When it comes to staying in the country, the so-called visa D for a longer stay, i.e. a stay of up to 90 days in a framework period of 180 days, while a foreigner who intends to stay longer in the Republic of Serbia may be granted a temporary stay of one year.

Temporary residence is a residence permit of a foreign citizen in the Republic of Serbia and can be granted to a foreigner on any of the grounds prescribed by law.

One of the most common grounds is starting a business in Serbia.

The Law on Business Companies recognizes several forms of legal entities, but most of them are established entrepreneurship or limited liability companies, with a choice of flat rate or VAT taxation depending on the predominant business activity and the expected profit of the company.

Just by registering a company, a foreigner has the opportunity to apply for a temporary residence permit in the Republic of Serbia on that basis.

The process of obtaining temporary residence, in addition to a registered company, also includes to open bank account at a bank registered in Serbia, necessary health insurance, as well as an accomodation (rent an apartment / house for a long period) and business space (local office, virtual office or coworking space).

In addition, it is necessary to start the procedure for obtaining a work permit, because without it it is not allowed to work by Serbian law.

All the mentioned actions can be taken without personal presence by signing the appropriate power of attorney.
